HG2C(human gene to chemical)


HG2C is an integrated system for drug discovery. We know the human genome sequences in con sequence of Human Genome Project, but its clinical use is not much available. Until now, many researches have been studied as a unit part such as genomics and proteomics. However, an attempt to examine the relationship between the parts has been not sufficient. Chemical Genomics is one of the ways to find interaction of chemicals and disease related genes.

The purpose of HG2C is to build the relationship between chemicals and genes with in silico tools ahead of carrying actual experiments. For this research, various field technologies are in need such as bioinformatics, cheminformatics, computer simulation and so on. With known human genome sequences, we can determine protein structures which lead useful information to find its interacting chemical compounds. The chemicals are analyzed to have possible drug-like properties.

To build a database of this relationship is beneficial to reduce the cost and the time for drug discovery because we can experiment instantly with drug candidates when we notice disease related genes.
